Vocational Training

At SRSC we believe that as our children grow up, we need to also prepare them to be able to support themselves in the real world. For this purpose, we provide vocational training to allow our children to develop their self-reliance. All our vocational training is specifically designed to improve their hand-eye coordination and their confidence in being able to make things on their own.

Bead Work:

We work to show children and their mothers how to make simple accessories using beads.

Pottery:

We have recently introduced live pottery sessions with trained potters to allow our children to explore how to make pottery.

Block Printing: Under the supervision of trained teachers, children learn the art of printing designs on fabric. Products developed by our children are available for sale through exhibitions.

Weaving:

We provide weaving using handlooms to children to allow them to create fabric with different designs. Some of these are made available for sale through exhibitions.

Handicrafts:

SRSC operates a handicrafts workshops program where mothers and children can take their creations and get paid for their contributions. We are proud to be a regular participant of the British Bazaar which is held every year by the British Consulate in Karachi.
