About Us

The Society for the Rehabilitation of Special Children (SRSC) is one of the oldest local NGOs which has been caring for the underprivileged, special children of the city of Karachi. We work on complete rehabilitation of special children by working holistically on their physical, mental and emotional well-being as well as their special needs.

At SRSC we engage special children and their caregivers daily. We look after their physical fitness by way of therapies (physiotherapy, speech & occupational therapy); their education needs through classroom teaching; and their health needs through free clinic facilities. In addition, we give them vocational training such as block printing and weaving to make them economically independent and allow them to stand on their own feet.

SRSC has been registered with the Directorate of Social Welfare since 1963. Our success has been driven by our Executive Committee of Members, that selflessly have given their time over the years to making SRSC the model institution that it is today. To ensure good governance, we hold elections for the Executive Committee every two years and our financial statements are audited yearly.
